If you need help losing weight, I want you to stop working out and start working on your diet! As crazy as that may sound, it’s time to focus on your one thing if you’re not seeing results from your workout. Focusing on a healthy diet might be the only way to get you to think about the effects that your food has on your body! If you exercise and are not seeing results, then it’s time for a wake-up call.

Why you need to work on a healthy diet

Are you working out but not losing the weight or not seeing the results in your body?

Most people workout to improve body composition (lose weight, gain muscle, improve definition). So, they will put in long hard hours at the gym. Sometimes they don’t see the results from their hard work! While those same people are “trying” to watch what they eat, they will justify eating more or eating unhealthy things because they deserve it since they workout all the time!

The biggest thing that kills me to hear is when I hear runners say “I run so I can eat whatever I want“! Usually, those people aren’t exactly healthy just because they run all the time. If you don’t respect your body and what goes into it as much as you care about how it looks, then all the time in the gym or on the road is in vain.

Why can’t I lose weight?

Are you in a cycle of dieting, losing weight, gaining weight, losing weight, and putting it back on? It’s a big problem because our social lives center around gatherings of food.

Think about the last time you hung out with friends or family, and food wasn’t the center of attention. Whether you met at a restaurant or had a spread of food at your get-together, an abundance of food is typical in social settings.

It’s how you grow up, with comfort foods which have a deep connection to your life. Food brings joy and love. It’s very important in human nature to have those connections and memories of loved ones or special times. However, have you grown to want and have those types of foods that are comforting and usually unhealthy EVERY DAY?

If the answer is yes, this is why your scale is not moving and your jeans are not fitting even though you are working out ALL THE TIME.  You’re probably not as diligent to your diet “because it’s too hard”.

Just like you need motivation in the gym to exercise when you don’t want to, you need motivation in the kitchen and at restaurants, to eat healthy and avoid overeating.

Find your one thing, to control your weight and finally shed the pounds you want. Set one goal and reach for it, and then build upon it.

Believe me working out will DRAMATICALLY help improve your body composition. However, if you are not 100% dedicated to improving your diet then you might as well not even workout. It’s one of the reasons you don’t feel stronger even though you’re putting in the time at the gym. LINK

You need the right amounts of fat, protein, and carbohydrates to lose weight. Too much throws your body off balance. For example, if you eat too much protein, it passes through your body or you store it.[ttbase_spacer height=”30″]
